My first blog, here it goes!
After attending a volunteer mission trip last year to Haiti, I
knew I would want to continue this service in the future. I am currently
studying pre medicine and majoring in Biology. In the
future I plan to study pediatrics, but also contribute my time in
volunteering around the world through mission trips, etc. I would love
to eventually apply my studies to my work and attend medical mission
trips. Since I am passionate
about Haiti, and the work we did, I figured contacting the organization I
went with last year would be a good idea, little did I know - I would be agreeing to attend another trip at the end of May! I am looking into some type of internship at which I
could help with recruiting a medical volunteer team because Haiti is
facing a lot of medical issues. I was thinking about creating a
presentation regarding "community health." During this trip to Haiti
that I will attend at the end of May, I plan to speak with the doctor
that is currently working in the small town we will be attending and I
hope to get as much information as possible to bring back here for the
presentation. So, here is the beginning to my journey! I look forward to what the future has in store, and I'm excited to share this story!
